General Skilled Visa

The Skilled Visa Australia is designed for individuals with specialized skills and experience in specific occupations, providing them the opportunity to live and work permanently anywhere in Australia. This visa contributes to enhancing Australia’s workforce by attracting skilled professionals in various fields. It is a favored pathway for skilled migrants seeking Australian permanent residence.

To apply, candidates must participate in the Skilled Select program within Australia’s General Skilled program, utilizing a point-based system. The process involves submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) and subsequently applying for the skilled visa upon receiving an invitation. The success of the application hinges on the points earned through the Skilled Select Program, and the applicant’s occupation must be listed on the Skilled Occupation List. Proficiency in the English language is another crucial factor determining eligibility for the Australian skilled independent visa.

Skilled Independent Visa

The Skilled Independent Visa is designed for skilled workers without sponsorship from a territory, state, employer, or family member. Holders of this visa have the freedom to permanently live and work in the Australian economy, with the option to include certain family members in the application.

To submit a valid visa application, obtaining a positive skills assessment is the first step before expressing interest through SkillSelect. Key criteria include being under 45 years of age when invited to apply, having a nominated occupation matching qualifications and skills, skills assessment by relevant authorities, scoring at least 65 points in the Points Test, and meeting health requirements. This visa is known as the Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189).

Skilled Sponsored Visa

The Skilled Sponsored Visa is intended for skilled workers nominated by an Australian state or territory. Holders of this visa can permanently live and work in the specified Australian region, and the application may include certain family members.

Key criteria for the Skilled Sponsored Visa include being invited to apply, being under 45 years of age during the invitation, undergoing nomination in an occupation matching skills, having competent English language proficiency, scoring at least 65 points in the Points Test, and meeting health and character requirements. This visa category includes the Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190), Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa Subclass 491, and Skilled Regional Visa (subclass 887).
